Led by master craftsman Nathan McCarter, NMC brings a fresh perspective to property design, build, and project management. Based in Tavistock with a background in handcrafted timber windows and doors, we’re firmly established in a tradition of craftsmanship, delivering every project with a commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Founded in 2024, NMC began in response to growing demand from many of our clients. Impressed by the quality of our bespoke windows and doors, together with our reliability of service, requests for Nathan to take on more extensive renovation and building projects became more regular. Recognising a need for a specialist company that could deliver the same high standards across all aspects of property design, build, and project management, Nathan set up NMC to meet this demand.

Nathan McCarter
Director/Owner
As the owner and director of NMC, Nathan brings nearly two decades of diverse experience, seamlessly blending his design expertise with a strong foundation in project management. With his background in joinery design and manufacturing, he can make swift, informed decisions under pressure, a skill sharpened during his time in the Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue service.
But it’s Nathan’s ability to delegate tasks effectively that ensures every project runs smoothly, while his creative vision and diligent attention to detail result in innovative concept designs that stand out. His leadership not only encourages a collaborative workplace but also drives every NMC project to success so client expectations are consistently exceeded.
Dan Rickard
Architectural Designer
With over seven years of practice experience, Dan works on all aspects of architectural design at NMC, from planning to construction. With an expert eye for detail, Dan creates and refines our project designs, selects just the right materials, develops detailed plans, and ensures compliance with regulations for every client project.
Tom Sherrell
Resource Manager
As Resource Manager, Tom regularly works alongside various departments, including project management, to help plan and allocate the resources that every project needs. While making sure we have the right people in place, Tom also makes sure every health and safety box is ticked for our larger sites while working with building control to ensure the highest building regs standards.
Jonathan Lukar
Planner
A qualified Town Planner, Jonathan brings over 18 years of experience to NMC with expertise in all types of development, from major applications, house extensions, and housing and agricultural developments to listed building and conservation area consents. He also has a detailed understanding of planning policy and its interpretation in all areas.
Felicity McCarter
Project Manager
Felicity has a proven track record of over 15 years in business development and seamless project management. With hands-on experience working with clients, design professionals, and building contractors on coordination and scheduling project details, Felicity builds strong relationships, making her a vital part of the team.
